Cycas riuminiana belongs to the family Cycadaceae with 95 recognized species. Cycas riuminiana was named in 1863 by the German botanist Eduard Auguste von Regel after Riumin, president of the Moscow Horticultural Society.
C. riuminiana is endemic to the Philippines, and is found in inland mountain forests of Central Luzon, specifically in Mount Arayat and Mount Dipalayag.
C. riuminiana grows to 4-5 meters tall. Being tropical in origin, it does not tolerate frost. It is best grown in a well-drained compost medium with semi-shade and with regular watering.
